White Sauce with Green Chiles
Ingredients
- 2/3 cups cashews
- 2 tablespoons unbleached all-purpose white flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast flakes
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 cups water
- 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper
- 1 can green chiles, diced (4 ounce can)
Directions
Step 1 | |
In a high speed blender, place all ingredients, (except the green chiles) and blend on high until smooth. | |
Step 2 | |
Pour blender contents into a saucepan on medium heat, and cook until mixture is bubbly and thickened. | |
Step 3 | |
Allow sauce to cool for a few minutes, then add your finely chopped green chiles and cayenne. | |
Step 4 | |
Stir it all up, and it's ready to pour on your chimichangas! |
