Equipment

  • 1-2 sheet pans or cookie sheets

Ingredients

  • 1 large sweet potato chopped lengthwise into fries
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Peel and cut sweet potato in french fry sized pieces.
  • Combine cut sweet potato with olive oil in a bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, combine remaining seasonings with cornstarch.
  • Pour seasonings over oiled sweet potato and mix well. (Your hands work best for this! :))
  • Spread sweet potato fries over 2 baking sheets, making sure that fries are not touching each other.
  • Bake at 450 degrees F for 7 minutes. Turn fries with a large spatula, then turn oven down to 375 degrees F for about 5 minutes. Check fries, if they still aren't quite crispy, turn oven back up to 450 degrees for 1-3 minutes.
  • Remove fries from oven, and allow them to cool for just a few minutes before serving.
