Happy New Year–from our family to yours!
As some of you may have noticed, I have taken a bit of a sudden leave of absence from Vegan Yumminess. Here are just a few reasons for this.
1. Pregnancy <insert squeeeeel!>. With the joy of pregnancy has come some pretty horrendous nausea. I am 16 weeks along, and yet, I have still been intermittently plagued with nausea that keeps me on the couch most of the day–no cooking and very little eating. Thanks to pretzels, applesauce, and a few other satisfied random cravings, I have managed to hang on to all of my weight.
But, yeah. I haven’t been making recipes. Or taking pictures of food. Or blogging about it. I keep thinking that I’m almost over the nausea hump, and I’ll be able to hit the kitchen again. Then, tragedy strikes, and I find the mere thought of most food abhorrent.
The good news is that all of this nausea is for a wonderful cause, and we can’t wait to meet our little Bebe sometime next June. 🙂
2. I have a new job. Yep. It is only part-time, and it will most likely only last until March, but I’m happy. I’ve been teaching nursing clinicals for a nearby university one night each week. The job is fantastic because I am only away from my little Sweet Pea for about 7 hours each week, and I have a great group of enthusiastic nursing students to work with. The down side is that I have to drive 2 1/2 to 3 hours one way to get to work each week. It also requires at least one night away from my hubby each week. I’m thankful for my husband’s wonderful parents and their willingness to help babysit and let me crash at their house (3 hours’ drive away from mine) each week when I drive down to work.
3. I lost my camera. It pains me to even write it. On a recent trip to Maine to visit my family for the holidays, we lost our camera–somewhere in the Portland airport, I’m thinking. It really is tragic. So, right now, I’m hunting for a new one. (Any suggestions are welcome!) Until I get a new camera (hopefully within a few weeks), I won’t be able to post any food pictures or videos. In the meantime, I’m hoping to be trying out some new recipes. 🙂
I’ve missed all of you and your sweet encouraging comments. Hoping your holiday seasons were filled with fun, family, food, and most of all, reflection on God’s greatest Gift to man–His Son.
